PhD STUDENTSHIP

Oct 2024 start

Come discover how longterm antibiotic use shapes the lung microbiome of people with COPD and how it contributes to antimicrobial resistance transmission between microbes! The position is funded by the MRC AIM DTP programme and is open to applications from UK and International candidates. The project will be led by Dr. Michelle Buckner (U of Birmingham) and co-supervised with Dr. Mike Cox (U of Birmingham), Dr. Alice Turner (U of Birmingham), and myself (U of Nottingham). PhD STUDENTSHIP

Oct 2024 start

We are seeking an enthusiastic student interested in microbiology, bioinformatics, and evolutionary biology to study dynamics within the cystic fibrosis lung microbiome. The position is appropriate for self-funded PhD students only. The project will be co-supervised with Prof. Kim Hardie and is focussed on understanding the interactions between microbes within the lung microbiome of individuals with cystic fibrosis.
